Many women choose abortion because they don't know how they could possibly cope with a child. They will need medical care, maternity clothes, and so many baby items to care for a child. The Gabriel Project is a parish-based, diocesan-led program to offer support to pregnant women. We do not judge or condemn, we just want to help.
When a woman calls the diocesan contact number on the Gabriel signs, she is referred to the parish closest to where she lives. The coordinator for the Gabriel Project assigns an 'Angel' to contact the woman and offer emotional as well as physical support.
Each year we follow the development of a child in the womb through the Spiritual Adoption program. Our adopted 'babies' are born in May, so we have a baby shower! The baby items that St. Laurence collects each year are used to help women who come to the Gabriel Project in need, and are also shared with other parishes to enable them to help their Gabriel clients.
Thank you for your generous support to help expectant moms and babies in need of our assistance.
